Rosalie Fairchild is a 637 year old vampire obsessed with the bond between her two lovers, Caleb Westover and Aidan Whitmore. She was once a young English girl, who was the daughter of Lance Fairchild and Anna Bellamy. She was very playful, and reckless as a young human girl and during her childhood she had an accident, and was told by a doctor that she was going to die. After this news, her maid, Agmé, fetched the village vampire Gabriel and asked him to turn her into a vampire. He did so, though Rosalie had no say in the matter, and she became a vampire. Believing she was still injured, her father took her to the Westover Boarding House to cheer her up. There she met Caleb Westover, the human son of Henry Westover, and she fell deeply in love with him. However, she also displayed interest in Caleb's elder human best friend, Aidan Whitmore. She said to both of them and that the only way to stay in the Westover Estate was if she chose which one to marry. She said that she would tell them which one she had chosen for marriage on Sunday at twilight. Rosalie first came to Caleb during the night, presumably during lovemaking and she gave him her blood. However, Rosalie also gave Aidan her blood as well.
